The goats for the sin offering were brought before the king and the assembly, and they laid their hands on them.


We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.


After the sixty-two “sevens”, the Anointed One will be put to death and will have nothing. The people of the ruler who will come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end will come like a flood: war will continue until the end, and desolations have been decreed.


He is to lay both hands on the head of the live goat and confess over it all the wickedness and rebellion of the Israelites – all their sins – and put them on the goat’s head. He shall send the goat away into the wilderness in the care of someone appointed for the task.


The elders of the community are to lay their hands on the bull’s head before the Lord, and the bull shall be slaughtered before the Lord.


They are to lay their hand on the head of the sin offering and slaughter it at the place of the burnt offering.


He then presented the bull for the sin offering, and Aaron and his sons laid their hands on its head.


‘Then the Levites are to lay their hands on the heads of the bulls, using one for a sin offering to the Lord and the other for a burnt offering, to make atonement for the Levites.


For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit.
