Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the realm of the dead, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom.


‘ “Because no-one has hired us,” they answered. ‘He said to them, “You also go and work in my vineyard.”


Jesus said to the man with the shrivelled hand, ‘Stand up in front of everyone.’


but Jesus said to them, ‘I have shown you many good works from the Father. For which of these do you stone me?’


Do not believe me unless I do the works of my Father.


Then Jesus told them, ‘You are going to have the light just a little while longer. Walk while you have the light, before darkness overtakes you. Whoever walks in the dark does not know where they are going.


I have brought you glory on earth by finishing the work you gave me to do.


‘My food,’ said Jesus, ‘is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work.


Jesus gave them this answer: ‘Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does.


‘I have testimony weightier than that of John. For the works that the Father has given me to finish – the very works that I am doing – testify that the Father has sent me.


Jesus said, ‘I am with you for only a short time, and then I am going to the one who sent me.


As for us, we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.’


Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.


making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.


Be wise in the way you act towards outsiders; make the most of every opportunity.
