Now leave me alone so that my anger may burn against them and that I may destroy them. Then I will make you into a great nation.’


When you spread out your hands in prayer, I hide my eyes from you; even when you offer many prayers, I am not listening. Your hands are full of blood!


‘Do not pray for this people or offer any plea or petition for them, because I will not listen when they call to me in the time of their distress.


Then the Lord said to me: ‘Even if Moses and Samuel were to stand before me, my heart would not go out to this people. Send them away from my presence! Let them go!


You have rejected me,’ declares the Lord. ‘You keep on backsliding. So I will reach out and destroy you; I am tired of holding back.


Should good be repaid with evil? Yet they have dug a pit for me. Remember that I stood before you and spoke on their behalf to turn your wrath away from them.


Therefore the earth will mourn and the heavens above grow dark, because I have spoken and will not relent, I have decided and will not turn back.’


Do you not see what they are doing in the towns of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem?


Then they will cry out to the Lord, but he will not answer them. At that time he will hide his face from them because of the evil they have done.


Let me alone, so that I may destroy them and blot out their name from under heaven. And I will make you into a nation stronger and more numerous than they.’


If you see any brother or sister commit a sin that does not lead to death, you should pray and God will give them life. I refer to those whose sin does not lead to death. There is a sin that leads to death. I am not saying that you should pray about that.
