Abram brought all these to him, cut them in two and arranged the halves opposite each other; the birds, however, he did not cut in half.


Smoke rose from his nostrils; consuming fire came from his mouth, burning coals blazed out of it.


Then the fire of the Lord fell and burned up the sacrifice, the wood, the stones and the soil, and also licked up the water in the trench.


David built an altar to the Lord there and sacrificed burnt offerings and fellowship offerings. He called on the Lord, and the Lord answered him with fire from heaven on the altar of burnt offering.


Mount Sinai was covered with smoke, because the Lord descended on it in fire. The smoke billowed up from it like smoke from a furnace, and the whole mountain trembled violently.
