Geber son of Uri, in Gilead (the country of Sihon king of the Amorites and the country of Og king of Bashan). He was the only governor over the district.


‘You gave them kingdoms and nations, allotting to them even the remotest frontiers. They took over the country of Sihon king of Heshbon and the country of Og king of Bashan.


and Og king of Bashan – His love endures for ever.


This was after he had defeated Sihon king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon, and at Edrei had defeated Og king of Bashan, who reigned in Ashtaroth.


When Sihon and all his army came out to meet us in battle at Jahaz,


When you reached this place, Sihon king of Heshbon and Og king of Bashan came out to fight against us, but we defeated them.


The Lord said to me, ‘Do not be afraid of him, for I have delivered him into your hands, along with his whole army and his land. Do to him what you did to Sihon king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon.’


And the Lord will do to them what he did to Sihon and Og, the kings of the Amorites, whom he destroyed along with their land.


They took possession of his land and the land of Og king of Bashan, the two Amorite kings east of the Jordan.


These are the kings of the land whom the Israelites had defeated and whose territory they took over east of the Jordan, from the Arnon Gorge to Mount Hermon, including all the eastern side of the Arabah:


And the territory of Og king of Bashan, one of the last of the Rephaites, who reigned in Ashtaroth and Edrei.


The territory extending from Mahanaim and including all of Bashan, the entire realm of Og king of Bashan – all the settlements of Jair in Bashan, sixty towns,


and all that he did to the two kings of the Amorites east of the Jordan – Sihon king of Heshbon, and Og king of Bashan, who reigned in Ashtaroth.
