32 You will be driven away from people and will live with the wild animals; you will eat grass like the ox. Seven times will pass by for you until you acknowledge that the Most High is sovereign over all kingdoms on earth and gives them to anyone he wishes.’

And when he prayed to him, the Lord was moved by his entreaty and listened to his plea; so he brought him back to Jerusalem and to his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the Lord is God.


‘I know that you can do all things; no purpose of yours can be thwarted.


If he snatches away, who can stop him? Who can say to him, “What are you doing?”


Our God is in heaven; he does whatever pleases him.


The Lord does whatever pleases him, in the heavens and on the earth, in the seas and all their depths.


‘Tomorrow,’ Pharaoh said. Moses replied, ‘It will be as you say, so that you may know there is no-one like the Lord our God.


or this time I will send the full force of my plagues against you and against your officials and your people, so you may know that there is no-one like me in all the earth.


Moses replied, ‘When I have gone out of the city, I will spread out my hands in prayer to the Lord. The thunder will stop and there will be no more hail, so you may know that the earth is the Lord’s.


Now, Lord our God, deliver us from his hand, so that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that you, Lord, are the only God.’


Surely the nations are like a drop in a bucket; they are regarded as dust on the scales; he weighs the islands as though they were fine dust.


Before him all the nations are as nothing; they are regarded by him as worthless and less than nothing.


I will give you hidden treasures, riches stored in secret places, so that you may know that I am the Lord, the God of Israel, who summons you by name.


with my great power and outstretched arm I made the earth and its people and the animals that are on it, and I give it to anyone I please.


He changes times and seasons; he deposes kings and raises up others. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning.


Even as the words were on his lips, a voice came from heaven, ‘This is what is decreed for you, King Nebuchadnezzar: your royal authority has been taken from you.


He was driven away from people and given the mind of an animal; he lived with the wild donkeys and ate grass like the ox; and his body was drenched with the dew of heaven, until he acknowledged that the Most High God is sovereign over all kingdoms on earth and sets over them anyone he wishes.


He did this so that all the peoples of the earth might know that the hand of the Lord is powerful and so that you might always fear the Lord your God.’
