21 Then I will send a boy and say, “Go, find the arrows.” If I say to him, “Look, the arrows are on this side of you; bring them here,” then come, because, as surely as the Lord lives, you are safe; there is no danger.

And if they learn well the ways of my people and swear by my name, saying, “As surely as the Lord lives” – even as they once taught my people to swear by Baal – then they will be established among my people.


and if in a truthful, just and righteous way you swear, “As surely as the Lord lives,” then the nations will invoke blessings by him and in him they will boast.’


Although they say, “As surely as the Lord lives,” still they are swearing falsely.’


Those who swear by the sin of Samaria – who say, “As surely as your god lives, Dan”, or, “As surely as the god of Beersheba lives” – they will fall, never to rise again.’


I will shoot three arrows to the side of it, as though I were shooting at a target.


But if I say to the boy, “Look, the arrows are beyond you,” then you must go, because the Lord has sent you away.


and he said to the boy, ‘Run and find the arrows I shoot.’ As the boy ran, he shot an arrow beyond him.
