On that night the king could not sleep, and he commanded to bring the Book of the Records of the Matter of the Days. And they were read before the king.


And they sat down with him upon the ground seven days and seven nights. And no one spoke a word to him, for they saw that his grief was very great.


For now it would be heavier than the sand of the sea; therefore my words have been rash.


I am weary in my groaning; all the night I make my bed swim; I melt my couch with my tears.
