Whoever sheds man's blood, his blood shall be shed by man; for He made man in the image of God.


And they cry to Jehovah in their trouble, and He brings them out of their troubles.


But our God is in Heaven; He has done whatever He has pleased.


Every thing Jehovah pleased, He did in the heavens and in earth, and in the seas and all deep places.


Jehovah, in trouble they have visited You; they poured out a prayer; Your chastening was on them.


But the men rowed hard to bring it to the land; but they could not, for the sea was going on and being stormy against them.


Then the men feared Jehovah exceedingly, and offered a sacrifice to Jehovah, and vowed vows.


Then the seamen were afraid, and each man cried to his god. And they threw out the ship's articles in the ship, into the sea in order to lighten it. But Jonah had gone down into the hold of the ship; and he lay there, and was fast asleep.


But let man and animal be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily to God. And let them each one turn from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands.


Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight.


And when the foreigners saw the creature hanging from his hand, they said to one another, No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, being saved from the sea, Justice has not allowed to live.


in whom also we have been chosen to an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His own will,


having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself,


Be merciful, O Jehovah, to Your people Israel, whom You have redeemed, and do not lay innocent blood to the charge of Your people Israel. And the blood shall be forgiven them.
