so as to cause the cry of the poor to come to Him, for He hears the cry of the afflicted.


I will set no wicked thing before my eyes. I have hated the work of those who turn aside; it shall not hold on to me.


For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, I will now arise, says Jehovah. I will set in safety, he pants for it.


For He remembers them, the seekers of bloodshed; He forgets not the cry of the humble.


You shall not afflict any widow or fatherless child.


If you afflict them in any way, and they cry at all to Me, I will surely hear their cry.


And Jehovah said, I have surely seen the affliction of My people who are in Egypt; I have heard their cry because of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows.


He who despises his neighbor sins, but he who has mercy on the poor, happy is he.


Whoever stops his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard.


Do not eat the bread of him who has an evil eye, nor desire his dainty foods;


The thought of foolishness is sin; and the scorner is hateful to men.


He who hastens to be rich has an evil eye, and does not know that poverty will come upon him.


Keep your heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.


I Jehovah search the heart, I try the reins, even to give to each man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings.


At the end of seven years each man should let go his brother, a Hebrew, and who has been sold to him. And when he has served you six years, you shall let him go free from you. But your fathers did not listen to me, nor bow down their ears.


For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies;


Is it not lawful for me to do what I want with my own? Is your eye evil because I am good?


At the end of every seven years you shall make a release.


At his day you shall give him his hire, neither shall the sun go down on it. For he is poor and sets his heart on it; lest he cry against you to Jehovah, and it shall be sin to you.


And Moses commanded them, saying: At the end of seven years, at the set time of the year of release, in the Feast of Tabernacles,


Therefore to him who knows to do good, and does not do it, to him it is sin.


Do you think that the Scripture says in vain, The spirit that dwells in us yearns to envy?


Behold, the hire of the laborers reaping your fields cry out, being kept back by you. And the cries of those who have reaped have entered into the ears of the Lord of hosts.


Do not grudge against one another, brothers, lest you be condemned. Behold, the Judge stands before the door.


Be hospitable to one another, without grudging;
