behold, they reward us by coming to cast us out of Your possession, which You have given us to inherit.


For again the Edomites had come and had beaten Judah and had carried away captives.


Remember, O Jehovah, the sons of Edom in the day of Jerusalem; who said, Make it bare! Make it bare, even to the foundation of it!


Will You be angry with us forever? Will You draw out Your anger to all generations?


Do not be hasty in your spirit to be angry; for anger rests in the bosom of fools.


For I will not contend forever, nor will I be always angry; for the spirit should fail before Me, and the souls I have made.


Israel has thrown off good; the enemy shall pursue him.


Egypt shall be a ruin, and Edom shall be a desolate wilderness, from violence done to the sons of Judah, whose innocent blood they poured out in their land.


Who is a God like You, who pardons iniquity and passes by the transgression of the remnant of His heritage? He does not keep His anger forever, because He delights in mercy.


And with great anger I am angry at the nations at ease; in that I was but a little angry, and they gave help for evil.


I have loved you, says Jehovah. But you say, In what have You loved us? Was not Esau Jacob's brother? says Jehovah; yet I loved Jacob,


If Edom says, We are beaten down, but we will return and build the waste places. So says Jehovah of Hosts, They shall build, but I will throw down; and they shall call them the region of wickedness, and the people with whom Jehovah is indignant forever.


Therefore be followers of God, as dear children.


You shall not despise an Edomite, for he is your brother. You shall not despise an Egyptian, because you were a stranger in his land.
