7 I said, “Surely you will fear Me; and you will receive correction.” So her dwelling will not be cut off, according to all that I have appointed against her. But they were more eager to corrupt all their deeds.

So the Lord brought on them the officials of the army of the king of Assyria. They captured Manasseh with hooks, and they bound him in bronze chains and led him to Babylon.


and He opens their ear to discipline, and commands that they turn from iniquity.


I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.


Listen to counsel and accept instruction, that you may be wise in your future.


What more could have been done to My vineyard that I have not done in it? Why, when I expected it to bring forth good grapes, did it bring forth wild grapes?


For He said, “Surely they are My people, sons who will not lie.” So He became their Savior.


But they did not obey or incline their ears, but made their neck stiff, that they might not hear or receive instruction.


They said, “Turn now again everyone from his evil way and from the evil of your deeds, and dwell in the land that the Lord has given to you and to your fathers forever and ever.


It may be that the house of Judah will hear all the disaster which I intend to do to them, so that every man may turn from his evil way; then I will forgive their iniquity and their sin.


Then Jeremiah said to Zedekiah, “Thus says the Lord, the God of Hosts, the God of Israel: If you will surrender to the officers of the king of Babylon, then your soul will live and this city will not be burned with fire. Thus you and your household will live.


Be instructed, O Jerusalem, lest My soul depart from you; lest I make you desolate, a land not inhabited.


then I will cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers, forever and ever.


I listened and heard, but they did not speak what is right. No man repented of his wickedness, saying, “What have I done?” Everyone turned to his course, as the horse rushes into the battle.


They have deeply corrupted themselves as in the days of Gibeah. He will remember their iniquity, He will punish their sins.


She obeys no voice, she receives no correction; she does not trust in the Lord, she does not draw near to her God.


lest you corrupt yourselves and make a graven image for yourselves in the form of any figure, the likeness of male or female,


Now the goal of this command is love from a pure heart, and from a good conscience, and from sincere faith.


The Lord is not slow concerning His promise, as some count slowness. But He is patient with us, because He does not want any to perish, but all to come to repentance.
