Rachel died and was buried on the way to Ephrath, which is Bethlehem.


But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, although you are small among the tribes of Judah, from you will come forth for Me one who will be ruler over Israel. His origins are from of old, from ancient times.


There was a young man from Bethlehem in Judah. He was a Levite from Judah, and he stayed as a resident foreigner there.


So Moab was humbled under the hand of Israel that day, and the land had peace for eighty years.


Now Elimelek, the husband of Naomi, died, so she was left alone with her two sons.


Then Mahlon and Kilion also died, and Naomi was left without her two sons and her husband.


Now Naomi had a relative of her husband, a man of prominence and means from the clan of Elimelek. His name was Boaz.


Then Boaz said to the elders and all the people, “You are witnesses today that I have bought everything that belonged to Elimelek, Kilion, and Mahlon from Naomi.


Now there was a certain man from Ramathaim Zuphim, in the hill country of Ephraim, and his name was Elkanah, the son of Jeroham, the son of Elihu, the son of Tohu, the son of Zuph, an Ephraimite.


Now David was the son of that Ephrathite of Bethlehem in Judah whose name was Jesse, who had eight sons. And the man was old in the days of Saul and advanced in years.


And Israel and the Philistines ordered themselves in battle lines, army against army.
