Thus those shall be to you with whom you have labored, even your merchants, from your youth; they shall wander, everyone to his quarter. No one shall save you.


“Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon has devoured me and crushed me; he has made me an empty vessel. He has swallowed me up like a dragon; he has filled his belly with my delicacies, he has cast me out.


Babylon has been a golden cup in the hand of the Lord, that made all the earth drunk. The nations have drunk of her wine; therefore the nations are mad.


Those who once ate delicacies are desolate in the streets; those who were brought up in scarlet embrace ash heaps.


because of the countless harlotries of the seductive harlot, the mistress of sorceries, who sells nations through her harlotries and families through her sorceries.


What then did you go out to see? A man dressed in fine clothes? Behold, those who are splendidly clothed and live luxuriously are in royal palaces.

“The kings of the earth, who have committed adultery and lived luxuriously with her, will weep and mourn over her when they see the smoke of her burning.
