When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language,


to which the tribes go up, the tribes of the Lord, as was decreed for Israel, to give thanks to the name of the Lord.


Though you lie down among the sheepfolds, you will be like the wings of a dove covered with silver, and its pinions with yellow gold.


and they made their lives bitter with hard service—in mortar and in brick, and in all manner of service in the field. In all their service they made them serve with rigor.


“Therefore say to the Israelites: ‘I am the Lord, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rid you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great judgments.


In that day his burden shall be taken away from off your shoulder, and his yoke from off your neck; and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing oil.


For You have broken the yoke of his burden and the bar of his shoulder, the rod of his oppressor as in the day of Midian’s defeat.


Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me. For I am meek and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
