The king said to Haman, “The silver has been granted to you, as have the people, so do with each as it pleases you.”


“He has covered his face with his fatness and gathered fat upon his waist.


Their heart is insensitive, like fat, but I delight in Your law.


They close their hard hearts; with their mouths they speak proudly.


from men by Your hand, O  Lord, from men of the world whose portion is in this life. You fill their belly with Your treasure; they are satisfied with children, and they leave their abundance to their infants.


Behold, these are the wicked; always at ease, they increase in riches.


The expression of their countenance witnesses against them, and they declare their sin as Sodom; they hide it not. Woe to them! For they have brought evil on themselves.


They are fat, they are sleek. Indeed, they excel in deeds of wickedness. They do not judge the cause of the fatherless, so that they may prosper; and the right of the needy they do not defend.


Behold, this was the iniquity of your sister Sodom. Pride, abundance of bread, and careless ease was in her and in her daughters, but she did not strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.
