Far be it from You to do such a thing as this, to slay the righteous with the wicked, so that the righteous should be treated like the wicked; far be it from You. Should not the Judge of all the earth do right?”


The Lord is righteous; He has cut the cords of the wicked.


Restore us, O God of our salvation, and cause Your indignation toward us to cease.


You have rebuked the nations, You have destroyed the wicked, You have wiped out their name forever and ever.


In that day the Lord with His fierce and great and strong sword shall punish Leviathan the fleeing serpent, even Leviathan the twisted serpent; and He shall slay the dragon that is in the sea.


For My sword has drunk its fill in heaven; behold, it shall come down for judgment on Edom, and on the people whom I have devoted to destruction.


Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, says the Lord God. Repent, and turn away from all your transgressions so that iniquity shall not be your ruin.


It shall be to them as a false divination in their sight, to those who have sworn oaths. But he will call to remembrance the iniquity, that they may be seized.


Say to them: As I live, says the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn, turn from your evil ways! For why will you die, O house of Israel?


Even now the axe is put to the tree roots. Therefore, every tree which does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.


Therefore repent and be converted, that your sins may be wiped away, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,


if I sharpen My flashing sword and My hand takes hold on judgment, I will render vengeance on My enemies and will repay those who hate Me.
