David said to all of his servants who were with him in Jerusalem, “Get up. We must flee or there will be no escape from Absalom for us. Hurry up and leave, or he will soon reach us and bring disaster upon us, striking the city with the edge of the sword.”


Our adversaries said, “They will neither know nor see until we have entered in among them and slain them. Indeed, we will stop the work!”


for behold, the wicked bend their bow; they have fitted their arrow to the string, that they may treacherously shoot the upright in heart.


God will hear and afflict them, even He who sits enthroned from of old.    Selah Because they do not change, therefore they do not fear God.


Cast your burden on the Lord, and He will sustain you; He will never permit the righteous to be moved.


Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let Your glory be above all the earth.


But God will shoot an arrow at them; suddenly they will be wounded.


You pierced with his own arrows the leaders of his villages. They came like a whirlwind to scatter me; their rejoicing was like devouring the poor in secret.

And Saul threw the spear. For he said, “I will pin David to the wall.” But David avoided him two times.


Then Saul sought to pin David to the wall with the spear, but he escaped from Saul’s presence. He struck the spear into the wall. But David fled and escaped that night.
