He says in his heart, “God has forgotten; He hides His face; He will never see it.”


Why do the wicked despise God? He says in his heart, “You will not require an account.”


His speech was smoother than butter, but war was in his heart; his words were softer than oil, yet they were drawn swords.


My soul is among lions; I lie among the sons of men who are set on fire, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword.


They say, “How does God know? Is there knowledge in the Most High?”


They spew forth their arrogant words; all the workers of iniquity boast.


The words of the rash are like the piercings of a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.


The tongue of the wise uses knowledge aright, but the mouth of fools pours out folly.


The heart of the righteous reflects on how to reply, but the mouth of the wicked spews out evil.


Have you not considered what this people have spoken, saying, “The two families which the Lord has chosen, He has cast them off”? Thus they have despised My people, that they should be no more a nation before them.


the lips of my enemies and their devices against me all the day.


O generation of vipers, how can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.
