Then I proclaimed a fast there, at the river of Ahava, that we might humble ourselves before our God, to seek from Him a good route for us, our little ones, and all our substance.


Teach me Your way, O  Lord, and lead me on a level path, because of my enemies.


Behold, You desire truth in the inward being, and in my secret heart You will teach me wisdom.


Your tongue devises destruction, like a sharp razor, you worker of deceit.


They only conspire to cast him down from his high position; they delight in lies, they bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly.    Selah


Surely men of low degree are but a vapor; men of high degree are a lie; in the balances they go up; they are together lighter than vapor.


They devise injustice, saying “We have perfected a secret plot.” For the inward thought and the heart of man are deep.


You know my reproach, my shame, and my dishonor; my adversaries are all known to You.


A man who flatters his neighbor spreads a net for his feet.
