While he was still speaking, another came and said, “The fire of God fell from heaven and burned up the sheep and the servants and consumed them, and I alone have escaped to tell you.”


Bless the Lord, O my soul! O  Lord my God, You are very great! You are clothed with honor and majesty,


to make known to the sons of men His mighty acts, and the glorious majesty of His kingdom.


I will meditate on the glorious splendor of Your majesty and on Your wondrous works.


His glory is great in Your salvation; honor and majesty You bestow on him.


For the king trusts in the Lord, and by the lovingkindness of the Most High he shall not be moved.


Honor and majesty are before Him; strength and beauty are in His sanctuary.


Like an apple tree among the trees of the forest, so is my delightful one among the young men. I sat down in his shadow with great delight, and his fruit was sweet to my taste.


His cheeks are like beds of spices, mounds of scented herbs. His lips are lilies, dripping liquid myrrh.


He has made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of His hand He has hidden me and made me a select arrow; in His quiver He has hidden me.


The word which He sent to the Israelites, preaching peace through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all,


For to this end Christ died and rose and lived again, so that He might be Lord of both the dead and living.


He is the brightness of His glory, the express image of Himself, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had by Himself purged our sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.


For the word of God is alive, and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, of joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intents of the heart.


Now this is the main point of the things that we are saying: We have such a High Priest, who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens,


to the only wise God our Savior, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever. Amen.


He had in His right hand seven stars, and out of His mouth went a sharp two-edged sword. His appearance was like the sun shining brightly.
