The sons of Kohath were Amminadab his son, Korah his son, Assir his son,


I opened my mouth and panted, for I long for Your commandments.


We have heard with our ears, O God; our fathers have told us what deeds You performed in their days, in the days of old:


My heart is overflowing with a goodly theme; I recite my special song to the king; my tongue is like the pen of a skillful scribe.


God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.


Clap your hands, all you people! Shout to God with a voice of triumph.


Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in His holy mountain.


Hear this, all you peoples; give ear, all inhabitants of the world,


Lord, You have been favorable to Your land; You have brought back the captivity of Jacob.


His foundation is in the holy mountains.


O  Lord, God of my salvation, I cry out day and night before You.


The sons of Korah: Assir, Elkanah, and Abiasaph. These are the families of the Korahites.


Now Korah the son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, and Dathan and Abiram the sons of Eliab, and On the son of Peleth, sons of Reuben, took men,


And the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them, and their houses, and all the men that belonged to Korah, and all their goods.


But the sons of Korah did not die.
