“He has removed my brothers far from me, and my acquaintances are completely estranged from me.


He lies in wait secretly as a lion in his den; he lies in wait to catch the poor; he catches the poor, drawing them into his net.


The wicked have laid a snare for me, yet I have not strayed from Your precepts.


The proud have hidden a snare for me; they have spread cords as a net; by the wayside they have set traps for me.    Selah


Keep me from the snares which they have laid for me, and from the traps of those who work iniquity.


I am forgotten like a dead man, out of mind; I am like a broken vessel.


For they do not speak peace, but they devise deceitful matters against those who are quiet in the land.


Let them be put to shame and dishonor who seek after my life. Let them be turned back and confounded who devise evil against me.


My enemies speak evil of me: “When will he die, and his name perish?”


For strangers have risen against me, and oppressors seek my life; they do not set God before them.    Selah


for zeal for Your house has consumed me, and the reproaches of those who reproach You have fallen upon me.


my eyes grow dim from affliction. Lord, I have called daily upon You; I have stretched out my hands to You.


All the brothers of the poor hate him; how much more do his friends avoid him! He pursues them with words, yet they abandon him.
