Then Joab came to the king in his house and said, “Today you have shamed the faces of all of your servants who saved your life today, as well as the lives of your sons and daughters, the lives of your wives, and the lives of your concubines,


To the Jews belonged light, gladness, joy, and honor.


Consider and answer me, O  Lord my God. Enlighten my eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death,


On the day I called, You answered me, and made me bold with strength of soul.


For You will light my lamp; the Lord my God will enlighten my darkness.


Let no one who waits on You be ashamed; let them be ashamed who transgress without cause.


I lay down and slept; I awoke, for the Lord sustained me.


For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light we see light.


Call on Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will glorify Me.”


Whoever offers thanksgiving as his sacrifice glorifies Me; to him who orders his conduct aright, I will show the salvation of God.”


Fill their faces with shame, that they may seek Your name, O  Lord.


Light is sown for the righteous, and joy for the upright in heart.


Turn to Me and be saved, all the ends of the earth. For I am God, and there is no other.


Then you shall see and be radiant, and your heart shall thrill and rejoice because the abundance of the sea shall be converted to you, the wealth of the nations shall come to you.


Let us look to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
