Psalm 28:1

He will deliver his soul from going down to the pit, and his life will see the light.


I cry out to the Lord with my voice; with my voice to the Lord do I make my supplication.


I pour out my complaint before Him; I declare my trouble before Him.


Answer me quickly, O  Lord; my spirit fails! Hide not Your face from me, lest I be like those who go down into the pit.


The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge; my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.


O my God, I cry in the daytime, but You do not answer; and at night, and have no rest.


I cried to the Lord with my voice, and He answered me from His holy hill.    Selah


Sing to the Lord, you saints of His, and give thanks at the remembrance of His holy name.


“What profit is there in my death, if I go down to the pit? Will the dust praise You? Will it declare Your faithfulness?


This You have seen, O  Lord; do not be silent! O Lord, be not far from me!


Hear my prayer, O  Lord, and give ear to my cry; do not be silent at my tears. For I am a stranger with You, and a sojourner, as all my fathers were.


I will say to God, my rock, “Why have You forgotten me? Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?”


Listen to the voice of my cry, my King and my God, for to You will I pray.


Let not the flood overflow me, nor let the deep swallow me up; and let not the pit close its mouth on me.


My voice rises to God, thus will I cry aloud; my voice rises to God, thus will He hear me.


Do not keep silent, O God; do not hold Your peace or be still, O God.


let us swallow them up alive like Sheol, and whole, like those who go down into the pit;


Trust in the Lord forever, for in God the Lord we have an everlasting rock.


For Sheol cannot thank You, death cannot praise You; those who go down into the pit cannot hope for Your faithfulness.


He cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal on him, that he should deceive the nations no more, until the thousand years were ended. After that he must be set free for a little while.
