It is as high as heaven; what can you do? Deeper than Sheol; what can you know?


If I ascend into heaven, You are there; if I make my bed in Sheol, behold, You are there.


But God will redeem my soul from the power of Sheol, for He will receive me.    Selah


The wicked will depart to Sheol, all the nations that forget God.


Sheol and Abaddon lie open before the Lord; how much more the hearts of the sons of men.


Sheol and Abaddon are never satisfied; so the eyes of man are never satisfied.


Sheol from beneath is moved for you to meet you at your coming; it stirs up the dead for you, even all the chief ones of the earth; it has raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations.


Therefore Sheol has enlarged itself and opened its mouth without measure; so their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he who rejoices shall descend into it.


“Seventy weeks have been determined for your people and upon your holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make atonement for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the Most Holy Place.


You shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor make any tattoo marks on yourselves: I am the Lord.


Though they dig down to Sheol, from there My hand will capture them; though they climb up to the heavens, from there I will bring them down;


All the days that he separates himself to the Lord he will not approach a dead body.


The angel said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you. Therefore the Holy One who will be born will be called the Son of God.


In Hades, being in torment, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham from a distance and Lazarus in his presence.


“Leave us alone! What have You to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have You come to destroy us? I know who You are—the Holy One of God!”


So also is the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable; it is raised imperishable.


For a fire has been inflamed by My anger, and it will burn to the lowest part of Sheol, and shall consume the earth and its produce, and ignite the foundations of the mountains.


I am He who lives, though I was dead. Behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.


The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one by his works.
