“Yet now for a little while, there has been a favorable response from the Lord our God—leaving us a remnant to escape, giving us a tent peg from His holy place, having our eyes enlightened by our God, and giving us a little reviving in our bondage.


He says in his heart, “God has forgotten; He hides His face; He will never see it.”


For he will never be moved; the righteous will be remembered forever.


O my God, I trust in You; let me not be ashamed; let not my enemies triumph over me.


Let not my treacherous enemies rejoice over me, nor let those who hate me without cause wink the eye.


Let them not say in their hearts, “Ah, we have our heart’s desire!” Let them not say, “We have swallowed him up.”


For I said, “Hear me, lest they rejoice over me, lest, when my foot slips, they exalt themselves against me.”


Cast your burden on the Lord, and He will sustain you; He will never permit the righteous to be moved.
