Elijah came to all the people and said, “How long will you stay between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow Him, but if Baal, then follow him.” And the people did not say a word.


When all the people saw it, they fell on their faces and said, “The Lord, He is God! The Lord, He is God!”


On the following day, they made sacrifices to the Lord and offered burnt offerings to the Lord: a thousand bulls, a thousand rams, and a thousand lambs, with their drink offerings and sacrifices in abundance for all Israel.


To the Jews belonged light, gladness, joy, and honor.


For You will light my lamp; the Lord my God will enlighten my darkness.


He will bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday.

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may declare the goodness of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.
