When they were gone out of the city, but not yet far off, Joseph said to his steward, “Get up, follow after the men. When you overtake them, say to them, ‘Why have you rewarded evil for good?


Absalom sent for Ahithophel the Gilonite, the advisor of David, from his city Giloh, while he was offering the sacrifices. Now the conspiracy was strong, for the number of people with Absalom was continually growing.


Now it was reported to David that Ahithophel was conspiring with Absalom, and David said, “O  Lord, make the advice of Ahithophel folly.”


Those who render evil for good attack me because I pursue good.


He who rewards evil for good, evil will not depart from his house.


Shall evil be recompensed for good? For they have dug a pit for my soul. Remember that I stood before You to speak good for them, and to turn away Your wrath from them.
