They speak empty words, each with his own neighbor; with flattering lips and a deceitful heart they speak.


They sharpen their tongues like a serpent’s; under their lips is the venom of vipers.    Selah


As for the head of those who surround me, let the evil of their lips overwhelm them.


Rescue me and deliver me from the hand of foreigners, whose mouth speaks lying words and whose right hand is a right hand of falsehood.

The words of his mouth are wickedness and deceit; he has ceased to be wise and to do good.

Behold, the wicked man writhes in pain of iniquity; he has conceived mischief and brought forth falsehood.


They mock and wickedly speak of oppression; they speak loftily.


The getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a fleeting vapor, the pursuit of death.


Remove far from me falsehood and lies; give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with my daily bread,


No one calls for justice, nor does anyone plead for truth. They trust in vanity and speak lies; they conceive mischief and bring forth iniquity.


They bend their tongues like their bow; lies and not truth prevail upon the land; for they proceed from evil to evil, and they do not know Me, says the Lord.


Your habitation is in the midst of deceit; through deceit they refuse to know Me, says the Lord.


Hear this, you who trample on the needy to make the poor of the land fail,


O generation of vipers, how can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.
