So Solomon sat upon the throne of his father David, and his kingdom was firmly established.


The Lord gave Solomon wisdom, as He promised, and there was peace between Hiram and Solomon as they made a treaty together.


Behold, a son shall be born to you who shall be a man of rest. I will give him rest from all his enemies all around. Solomon will be his name, and I will give peace and tranquility to Israel in his days.


Of all my sons (for the Lord has given me many sons), He has chosen my son Solomon to sit on the throne of the kingdom of the Lord over Israel.


Then Solomon sat on the throne of the Lord as king instead of David his father, and he prospered, and all Israel obeyed him.


So he died at a good old age, full of days, riches, and honor. And Solomon his son reigned in his place.


The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son makes a glad father, but a foolish son is the grief of his mother.
