Then the Lord said to Moses, “Go down, warn the people, lest they force their way to the Lord to look, and many of them perish.


Whoever makes anything like it or whoever puts any of it on a layman will be cut off from his people.”


Whoever makes anything like it in order to use it as perfume must be cut off from his people.


“So they will bring out all your wives and your children to the Chaldeans. And you will not escape out of their hand, but will be taken by the hand of the king of Babylon; and you will cause this city to be burned with fire.”


And the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them, and their houses, and all the men that belonged to Korah, and all their goods.


The Lord said to Moses, “Return the rod of Aaron before the testimony, to be kept for a warning to rebels, that you may put an end to their complaints before Me, or else they will die.”


You yourselves will perform the duties of the sanctuary and the duties of the altar, so that wrath may never come upon the Israelites again.


Of Kohath was the family of the Amramites, and the family of the Izharites, and the family of the Hebronites, and the family of the Uzzielites. These are the families of the Kohathites.


The Lord spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying:


But do this to them, that they may live and not die, when they approach the most holy things. Aaron and his sons will go in, and appoint each one to his service and to his burden.


Then He struck the men of Beth-shemesh, because they had looked into the ark of the Lord. He struck fifty thousand and seventy men. And the people lamented, because the Lord had struck the people with a great slaughter.
