Then the Lord said to Moses, “Write this as a memorial in a book and rehearse it to Joshua, for I will utterly wipe out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven.”


And they set out for the first time at the command of the Lord by the hand of Moses.


When you blow an alarm the second time, then the camps that lie on the south will set out. They will blow an alarm for their setting out.


These are the journeys of the Israelites, who went out of the land of Egypt with their armies under the hand of Moses and Aaron.


They set out from Rameses in the first month, on the fifteenth day of the first month. On the day after the Passover the Israelites went out with a high hand in the sight of all the Egyptians,


(It is an eleven-day journey from Horeb by the way of Mount Seir to Kadesh Barnea.)


The Lord said to me, “Arise, take your journey before the people, so that they may go in and possess the land which I swore to give to their fathers.”
