Then the Israelites set out and camped in the plains of Moab on the other side of the Jordan from Jericho.


“Take the count of the people from twenty years old and older,” as the Lord commanded Moses. The Israelites, who went out of the land of Egypt, were these:


These were counted by Moses and Eleazar the priest, who counted the Israelites in the plains of Moab by Jordan near Jericho.


They brought the captives, the prey, and the plunder to Moses, to Eleazar the priest, to the assembly of the Israelites, and to the camp on the plains of Moab, which are by Jordan across from Jericho.


They set out from the mountains of Abarim and camped in the plains of Moab near Jordan of Jericho.


And the Lord spoke to Moses in the plains of Moab by Jordan near Jericho, saying:


Moses went up from the plains of Moab to Mount Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, which is opposite Jericho. Then the Lord showed him all the land—from Gilead to Dan,


He buried him in a valley in the land of Moab, opposite Beth-peor, but no man knows of his burial place to this day.


The Israelites wept for Moses in the plains of Moab thirty days. Then the days of weeping and mourning for Moses were ended.
