Moreover I will cause to cease in Moab, says the Lord, him who offers sacrifice in the high place and him who burns incense to his gods.


because a fire went out of Heshbon, a flame from the city of Sihon; it has devoured Ar of Moab and the masters of the high places of Arnon.


Balak offered oxen and sheep and sent them to Balaam and to the officials who were with him.


And Balaam said to Balak, “Build for me seven altars, and prepare for me seven oxen and seven rams.”


And Balak said to him, “Please come with me to another place from where you may see them. You will see part of them, but will not see them all. Curse them for me from there.”


You must utterly destroy all the places where the nations which you will possess served their gods, on the high mountains, and on the hills, and under every green tree.
