And Balaam said to God, “Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab, has sent word to me, saying,


God said to Balaam, “You will not go with them. You will not curse the people because they are blessed.”


And Balak said to Balaam, “What have you done to me? I brought you to curse my enemies, and behold, you have done nothing but bless them.”


Then Balaam uttered his oracle, saying: “Balak has brought me from Aram, the king of Moab from the mountains of the east, saying, ‘Come, curse Jacob for me, and come, defy Israel!’


The anger of Balak was inflamed against Balaam, and he struck his hands together. And Balak said to Balaam, “I called you to curse my enemies, and behold, you have blessed them these three times.


but I refused to listen to Balaam. Therefore he blessed you still, and I delivered you out of his hand.
