There must be a priest, a descendant of Aaron, with the Levites when they are collecting tithes, and the Levites will offer one-tenth of the tithes to the house of our God, for the chambers of the storehouse.


Then all Judah brought the tithe of the grain, the new wine, and the fresh oil to the storehouses.


Any tithe of the land, whether seed of the land or fruit of the trees, belongs to the Lord. It is holy to the Lord.


The Lord spoke to Moses, saying:


You will speak to the Levites, and say to them: When you take from the Israelites the tithes that I have given you from them for your inheritance, then you will offer up an offering of it to the Lord, even one-tenth of the tithe.


Those who were numbered of them were twenty-three thousand, each male from one month old and older; for they were not counted among the Israelites, because there was no inheritance given them among the Israelites.


Therefore, Levi has no portion or inheritance with his brothers. The Lord is his inheritance, just as the Lord your God promised him. )


When you have finished tithing all the tithes of your income the third year, which is the year of tithing, and have given it to the Levite, the foreigner, the orphan, and the widow, that they may eat within your towns and be satisfied,


However Moses did not give an inheritance to the tribe of Levi. The burnt offerings of the Lord God of Israel are their inheritance, as He said to them.
