40 to be a memorial to the Israelites, that no outsider, who is not of the descendants of Aaron, shall approach to offer incense before the Lord, that he might not become like Korah and his company, as the Lord has said to him through Moses.

These sought their records in the genealogy register, but they were not found. Therefore, they were disqualified (as polluted) from the priesthood.


O house of Aaron, trust in the Lord! He is their help and their shield.


The chamber that faces north is for the priests who have charge of the altar. These are the sons of Zadok among the sons of Levi, who come near to the Lord to minister to Him.”


You shall give to the priests the Levites that are of the seed of Zadok who approach Me to minister to Me, says the Lord God, a young bull as a sin offering.


There shall be no outsider who eats of a holy thing, whether a foreign guest of the priest or a hired servant, he shall not eat of a holy offering.


When the tabernacle sets out, the Levites will take it down, and when the tabernacle is to be set up, the Levites will set it up, and the foreigner that approaches will be put to death.


So Eleazar the priest took the bronze censers, which those who were burned had offered, and they were hammered out as a covering on the altar,


You will appoint Aaron and his sons, and they will attend to their priesthood, and the foreigner that approaches will be put to death.


But those who were to camp before the tabernacle toward the east, even before the tent of meeting on the east side, were Moses, and Aaron and his sons, keeping the guard of the sanctuary for the guard of the Israelites, and the foreigner who approached was to be put to death.


No man takes this honor for himself, but he who is called by God receives it, just as Aaron did.
