Therefore their days did He consume like a breath, and their years in terror.


Be on guard before him and obey his voice. Do not provoke him, for he will not pardon your transgressions, for My name is in him.


As I entered into judgment with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so I will enter into judgment with you, says the Lord God.


God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He spoken, and will He not do it? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?


because the Lord had said of them, “They will surely die in the wilderness.” And there was not a man left of them, except Caleb the son of Jephunneh and Joshua the son of Nun.


Now all these things happened to them for examples. They are written as an admonition to us, upon whom the end of the ages has come.


But with many of them God was not well pleased, and they were overthrown in the wilderness.


So we see that they could not enter because of unbelief.


The Israelites had traveled forty years in the wilderness until all the people, the men of fighting age who came out of Egypt, died, because they did not obey the Lord. The Lord had sworn not to let them see the land that He had sworn to their fathers to give to us, a land flowing with milk and honey.
