Formerly I said to Zion, “Behold, here they are!” and to Jerusalem, “I will give one who brings good news.”


Let the wilderness and the cities lift up their voices, the villages that Kedar inhabits. Let the inhabitants of Sela sing, let them shout from the top of the mountains.


Awake, awake! Put on your strength, O Zion; put on your beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city. For the uncircumcised and the unclean will no longer enter you.


How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who proclaims peace, who brings good news of happiness, who proclaims salvation, who says to Zion, “Your God reigns!”


Then you will know that I am the Lord your God, who dwells in Zion, My holy mountain. And Jerusalem will be holy, and invaders will never again pass through her.


Speak to the Israelites, and say to them: Concerning the feasts of the Lord that you shall proclaim to be holy convocations, these are My appointed feasts.


These are the appointed feasts of the Lord, holy convocations which you shall proclaim in their appointed times.


The Lord has given a command concerning you: “No longer will your name go forth. I will cut off the carved image and metal image from the house of your gods. I will prepare your grave, for you are despised.”


And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy, which will be to all people.


“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, and good will toward men.”


The word which He sent to the Israelites, preaching peace through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all,


And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring good news of good things!”
