Will God hear his cry when trouble comes upon him?


Surely God will not hear vanity, nor will the Almighty regard it.


They cried for help, but there was no one to save them; they cried to the Lord, but He did not answer them.


“Then they will call on me, but I will not answer; they will seek me diligently, but they will not find me,


He who turns away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer is an abomination.


When you reach out your hands, I will hide My eyes from you; even when you make many prayers, I will not hear. Your hands are full of blood.


Woe to the wicked! It shall be ill with him, for the reward of his hands shall be given him.


Therefore thus says the Lord, behold, I will bring calamity upon them which they will not be able to escape. And though they cry to Me, I will not listen to them.


When they fast, I will not hear their cry. And when they offer a burnt offering and a grain offering, I will not accept them. But I will consume them by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence.


They come to fight with the Chaldeans, but it is to fill them with the dead bodies of men whom I have slain in My anger and in My fury, all for whose wickedness I have hidden My face from this city.


The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests rule by their own authority; and My people love to have it so. Yet what will you do in the end?


Therefore I will indeed deal in fury. My eye shall not spare, nor will I have pity. And though they cry in My ears with a loud voice, yet I will not listen to them.”


The seers will be shamed and the diviners disgraced, and they will all cover their beards, for there is no answer from God.


The earth will become desolate because of its inhabitants, from the fruit of their deeds.


Therefore it happened that as I called, and they would not hear, so they called, and I would not hear, says the Lord of Hosts.


Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonderful works in Your name?’


Once the Master of the house has risen up and shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock at the door, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open for us,’ He will answer you, ‘I do not know where you come from.’


We know that God does not listen to sinners. But if anyone is a worshipper of God and does His will, He hears him.


For he who has shown no mercy will have judgment without mercy, for mercy triumphs over judgment.


And you will cry out in that day because of your king, whom you have chosen for yourselves, but the Lord will not answer you in that day.”
