And Jeremiah composed a dirge for Josiah, and all the male and female singers speak of Josiah in their laments to this day; and they made them a statute in Israel; behold, they are written in the Laments.


Both the great and the small will die in this land. They will not be buried; neither will men lament for them, cut themselves, nor make themselves bald for them.


Groan silently. Make no mourning for the dead. Bind on your turban and put your shoes on your feet and do not cover your mustache and do not eat the bread of men.


saying: ‘We played the flute for you, and you did not dance; we sang a dirge to you, and you did not mourn.’


They are like children sitting in the marketplace, calling to each other, saying: ‘We played the flute for you, and you did not dance; we mourned to you, and you did not weep.’


Paul went down and leaned over him, and embracing him said, “Do not be troubled, for he is alive.”


Peter rose up and went with them. When he arrived, they led him into the upper room. All the widows stood by him weeping, and showing the tunics and garments which Dorcas had made while she was with them.


The sound of harpists and musicians, flute players and trumpeters, shall not be heard in you any more. No craftsman of any craft shall be found in you any more, and the sound of a millstone shall not be heard in you any more.
