Then Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan to be baptized by him.


But Jesus answered him, “Let it be so now, for it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he permitted Him.


But why is this granted to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?


We have all received from His fullness grace upon grace.


Now I would not have you unaware, brothers, that I often intended to come to you (but was prevented until now), that I might have a harvest among you also, even as among the other Gentiles.


For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God,


whom God has set forth to be a propitiation through faith, in His blood, for a demonstration of His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins previously committed,


But the Scripture has confined all things under sin, that the promise through faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.


And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying, “Abba, Father!”


And the former priests were numerous, because they were hindered from serving, because of death.
