But Jesus remained silent. The high priest said to Him, “I adjure You by the living God, tell us whether You are the Christ, the Son of God.”


And sitting down, they kept watch over Him there.


saying, “You who would destroy the temple and build it in three days, save Yourself! If You are the Son of God, come down from the cross.”


He trusted in God. Let Him deliver Him now, if He will have Him. For He said, ‘I am the Son of God.’  ”


And behold, the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from the top to the bottom. And the ground shook, and the rocks split apart.


And the tempter came to Him and said, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones be turned into bread.”


And when Jesus entered Capernaum, a centurion came to Him, entreating Him,


When the centurion who stood facing Him saw that He cried out and gave up the spirit, he said, “Truly, this Man was the Son of God.”


They all said, “Are You then the Son of God?” He said to them, “You truly say that I am.”


The Jews answered him, “We have a law, and by our law He ought to die, because He made Himself the Son of God!”


In Caesarea there was a man named Cornelius, the centurion of a band of soldiers called the Italian Detachment,


When they heard this, they were stung in the heart and said to Peter and to the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?”


He at once took soldiers and centurions, and ran down to them. When they saw the commander and the soldiers, they stopped beating Paul.


Then Paul called one of the centurions over and said, “Take this young man to the commander, for he has something to tell him.”


Then he summoned two centurions and said, “Prepare two hundred infantrymen, seventy mounted soldiers, and two hundred light infantrymen with spears to go to Caesarea at the third hour of the night.


When it was decided that we should sail to Italy, they delivered Paul and certain other prisoners to a centurion named Julius, of the Augustan Regiment.


But the centurion, wanting to save Paul, prevented them from their intent and ordered those who could swim to abandon ship first and get to land,


and declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead.


At that same hour there was a great earthquake, and one-tenth of the city fell. Seven thousand men were killed in the earthquake, and the remnant were frightened and gave glory to the God of heaven.
