Now at the feast, the governor was accustomed to releasing to the people a prisoner whom they chose.


So when they had gathered together, Pilate said to them, “Whom do you want me to release to you—Barabbas, or Jesus who is called Christ?”


There was one named Barabbas, who had committed murder in the insurrection and was bound with the rebels.


He released to them the man who was thrown in prison for insurrection and murder, whom they asked for. But he sentenced Jesus according to their will.


They all shouted again, “Not this Man, but Barabbas!” Now Barabbas was a robber.


You denied the Holy and Righteous One and asked for a murderer to be granted to you,


who know the righteous requirement of God, that those who commit such things are worthy of death. They not only do them, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them.


Greet Andronicus and Junia, my kinsmen and fellow prisoners, who are noteworthy among the apostles, who also were in Christ before me.
