They stir up strife, they lurk, they watch my steps, when they wait for my life.


But I was like a gentle lamb that is brought to the slaughter, and I did not know that they had devised plots against me, saying, “Let us destroy the tree with the fruit, and let us cut him off from the land of the living so that his name may be remembered no more.”


But if you will not listen to Me to sanctify the Sabbath day and not to bear a load, even entering in at the gates of Jerusalem on the Sabbath day, then I will kindle a fire in the gates and it will devour the palaces of Jerusalem and it will not be quenched.


Now Peter sat outside in the courtyard. And a girl came to him, saying, “You also were with Jesus of Galilee.”


Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the Praetorium, and gathered the whole detachment of soldiers before Him.


Peter followed Him at a distance into the courtyard of the high priest. He sat with the guards and warmed himself by the fire.


While Peter was below in the courtyard, one of the servant girls of the high priest came.


The soldiers led Him away to Praetorium Hall, and they called together the entire battalion.


But when they had kindled a fire in the middle of the courtyard and sat down together, Peter sat among them.


Annas and Caiaphas being the high priests, the word of God came to John the son of Zechariah in the wilderness.


Now both the chief priests and the Pharisees had given orders that if anyone knew where He was, he should report it, that they might seize Him.


Then Annas sent Him bound to Caiaphas the high priest.


Then they led Jesus from Caiaphas to the Praetorium. It was early. Yet they themselves did not enter the Praetorium, so that they might not be defiled, but might eat the Passover.
