By pride comes only contention, but with the teachable is wisdom.


He said to them, “You will indeed drink from My cup and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with. But to sit at My right hand and at My left is not Mine to grant, but it is for those for whom it is prepared by My Father.”


But Jesus called them to Him and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those who are great exercise authority over them.


But when Jesus saw it, He was very displeased and said to them, “Allow the little children to come to Me, and do not forbid them, for of such is the kingdom of God.


When the ten heard it, they began to be very displeased with James and John.


But the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, and said to the people, “There are six days in which men ought to work. Therefore come and be healed on those days, but not on the Sabbath day.”


Love suffers long and is kind; love envies not; love flaunts not itself and is not puffed up,


Let nothing be done out of strife or conceit, but in humility let each esteem the other better than himself.


But if you have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, do not boast and do not lie against the truth.


Likewise you younger ones, submit yourselves to the elders. Yes, all of you be submissive one to another and clothe yourselves with humility, because “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”
