who forsakes the companion of her youth and forgets the covenant of her God.


Yet you say, “Why?” It is because the Lord has been a witness between you and the wife of your youth, against whom you have dealt treacherously. Yet she is your companion and your wife by covenant.


For the Lord, the God of Israel, says that He hates divorce; for it covers one’s garment with violence, says the Lord of Hosts. Therefore take heed to your spirit, that you do not deal treacherously.


and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’ ?


They said to Him, “Then why did Moses command to give a certificate of divorce, and to send her away?”


What therefore God has joined together, let not man put asunder.”


For the woman who has a husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he lives. But if her husband dies, she is released from the law regarding her husband.


In this way men ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.


Marriage is to be honored among everyone, and the bed undefiled. But God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers.
