From that time on, Jesus began to show His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised on the third day.


Truly I say to you, there are some standing here who shall not taste death before they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom.”


But I tell you that Elijah has already come, and they did not know him, but did to him whatever they pleased. Likewise, the Son of Man will also suffer at their hands.”


and they will kill Him, and He will be raised on the third day.” And they were extremely sorrowful.


As they came down the mountain, Jesus commanded them, “Tell the vision to no one until the Son of Man is risen from the dead.”


Then many will fall away, and betray one another, and hate one another.


From that moment he searched for an opportunity to betray Him.


Rise, let us be going. Look, he who betrays Me is at hand.”


He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders and the chief priests and the scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.


Was it not necessary for the Christ to suffer these things and to enter His glory?”


He said to them, “Thus it is written, and accordingly it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day,


saying, “The Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day.”


And they were all amazed at the mighty power of God. But while everyone marveled at all the things Jesus did, He said to His disciples,


Which of the prophets have your fathers not persecuted? They have even killed those who foretold the coming of the Righteous One, of whom you have now become the betrayers and murderers,


For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus, on the night in which He was betrayed, took bread.
