A man came from Baal Shalishah, and he brought the man of God food from the firstfruits—twenty loaves of barley and fresh ears of grain—in his sack. And Elisha said, “Give it to the people and let them eat.”


For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.


When Jesus heard this, He departed from there by boat for a deserted place. But when the people heard it, they followed Him on foot from the cities.


His disciples said to Him, “Where will we get enough bread in the wilderness to feed such a great crowd?”


So Jesus had compassion on them and touched their eyes. Immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed Him.


saying, “Sir, we remember that deceiver saying while He was still alive, ‘After three days I will rise.’


But when He saw the crowds, He was moved with compassion for them, because they fainted and were scattered, like sheep without a shepherd.


Often it has thrown him into the fire and into the water to kill him. But if You can do anything, have compassion on us and help us.”


When the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her and said to her, “Do not weep.”


As day was about to dawn, Paul asked them all to eat, saying, “Today is the fourteenth day that you have waited and continued without food, having eaten nothing.


For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who was in every sense tempted like we are, yet without sin.
